(JULY 24)  On September 8, 2018, Fatuma "Iron Fist" Zarika [aka: Zarika Fatuma], 30-12-2 (17KO), of Kenya, residing in Florida,  will be fighting Yamileth Mercado in Nairobi, Kenya. The WBC reports that she will be doing her intense training in Great Britain, which is a first-time for her in the UK.

Zarika, has come a long way in the sport, beginning her professional boxing career October 12, 2003, making her pro debut against Rukken Koronoso, who was also making her pro debut.  Zarika won by points in the four-round bout.

Zarika, then fought seven more times fighting four-round bouts, and then one six-rounder, accumulating a boxing record of 8-0-1 (3KO).

On June 17, 2005, she fought her first title bout, when she fought Frida Wallberg for the vacant WIBF Intercontinental super featherweight title.

The bout took place at the SAS Radisson, in Aarhus, Denmark.  Frida Wallberg, 130, of Gothenburg, Sweden, won the bout by a unanimous decision delivering Zarika her first loss as a professional.

Since then Zarika, has made some huge accomplishments, winning her last six fights against some very heavy-hitting top female boxers, where she has defeated Alicia Ashley, and Catherine Phiri.

Zarika currently holds the WBC Super Bantamweight world title.
