Women's Boxing Worldwide this last weekend

(JULY 10) This last weekend we had quite a bit of women's boxing happening worldwide.  WBAN will give a summary of all the boxing action that has taken place from July 6 - July 8th.

On FRIDAY,  July 6th, in Argentina, at the Villa Ocampo, Club Huracán, in Santa Fe, Yamila "La Maquinita" Reynosa, now 11-4-3 (8KO), 145¼, of Buenos Aires, won by a fifth round TKO over Cristina "La Guerrera" Cuevas, 5-8-2, of Santa Fe, 145½. The bout was scheduled for ten rounds for the  Argentina (FAB) Welterweight title. 

At another venue in Argentina, at the Gimnasio Municipal Américo Torres, El Bolsón, Rio Negro, Daniela Molina, 107¼, Buenos Aires,  won a four-round split decision over Brenda Gonzalez, 105, of El Hoyo, Rio Negro, Argentina.

In Italy, at the Teatro Principe, Milan, Lombardia, Italy, flyweight Valeria Imbrogna, 111, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Judit Hachbold, 111.5.  Final judges scores 100-90 on all cards.  In a second female bout, featherweight Vissia Trovato, 124,  won by a second round TKO over Gabriella Mezei, 124.  The bout was scheduled for six rounds.

At the Victoria, Flemington, The Melbourne Pavilion, Austraila, Cherneka Johnson, remained undefeated with a 10-0-0 (5KO), of Victoria, Australia, after she won by a second round KO, over Siriphon Chanbuala, 12-6-2 (5KO), Buriram, Thailand, in a scheduled six-round bout in the featherweight division. 

On SATURDAY, in Mexico, at the Jalisco, Guadalajara, Domo del Parque San Rafael, Yareli " Chololita" Larios, 126¾, of Guadalajara, now 13-1-1 (3KO) fought to an eight-round split draw against Magaly Rodriguez, 126, of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, now 18-5-2 (9KO). Final judges scores were 76-76, 77-75, and 74-78. The bout was a three-star BoxRec rating for a match up. In a second female bout, Alondra Garcia, 115, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Valeria Perez, 115.

In Australia, at the Mansfield Tavern, Mansfield, Queensland, super bantamweight April Adams, 120.5, won a ten round unanimous decision over Nurshahidah Roslie. The two were fighting for the vacant World Boxing Organisation Asia Pacific Female Super Bantamweight Title.

At the Club La Unión, Colon, Entre Rios, Argentina, lightweight Yanina Lescano won a four-round split decision over Amanda Lopes.

In France, at the Mairie du XIII et XIV, Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, lightweight Myriam Dellal, 134.5, won a six-rounder by points over Monica Gentili, 134 1/4.  Score 58-56. 

In the United Kingdom, at the West Midlands, Dudley, The Venue, super lightweight Kirstie Bavington, 143¾, from West Midlands, won by points in a four-rounder over Elaine greenan, 139¾, Livingston, Scotland, UK, who was making her pro debut.

At the Mansfield, Mansfield Tavern, in Queensland, Australia, April Adams, 120½, 10-1-1 (3KO), of Queensland, won a ten round unanimous decision over Nurshahidah Roslie, 8-2-0 (6KO), of Singapore, for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Super Bantamweight title.  Final judges scores were 93-98, 93-97, and 94-97.

In the United States, at the Maumelle Event Center, in Maumelle, Arkansas, on the undercard Samantha Salazar, 5-5-1 (0KO), 118¼, of Dallas, Texas, won a four-round bout by unanimous decision over Angel Ford, 116¾, of Little Rock, Arkansas.  Final judges scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 37-39.

At another venue in the United states, at the American Bank Center Water Garden, Corpus Christi, Texas, Selina "Aztec Queen" Barrios," improved to (4-0, 2 KOs), with devastating one punch knockout over current WBF international lightweight champion, Aida "Lady Sparta" Satybaldinova (3-1-1). Barrios landed a crushing picture perfect left hook to the chin of Satybaldinova, ending the bout at the 1:24 mark of round four, in what many would say is a candidate for "Knockout of the Year". 

On SUNDAY, at the Berkshire, Bracknell, Leisure Centre United Kingdom, in the Co-Main event, Kristine Shergold, now 6-6-0 (1KO), won a ten round decision by points over junior lightweight  “Pink Tyson” Kallia Kourouni, now 9-2 (1KO). The two were fighting for the GBU and WIBF Junior lightweight titles, which Kourouni held before this fight.

Lastly, at the Ram 100 Thai Boxing Stadium, in Ramkamhaeng,  Bangkok, Thailand,  junior flyweight Jessebelle Pagaduan won a six-round unanimous decision over Saranyaphong Theinthong.   It was reported in the media that former Philippine female minimum weight champion Jessebelle Pagaduan was inactive for about a year and a half before returning to the ring and winning her fight against Theinthong.

In two other fights in Thailand, bantamweight Urvashi Singh won by a sixth round TKO over Sumalee Tongpootorn, and and junior lightweight Sumanthar Baenkham won a six-round unanimous decision over Supawadee Kabounram.
