Where Are They Now:   WBAN talks With Bridgett "Baby Doll" Riley!

(APR 6)  Just recently WBAN caught up with Bridgett "Baby Doll" Riley, a former top world female boxer who fought from 1994-2003.  She has moved on from fighting professionally in boxing, and continuing to have a very busy and exciting life outside the ring! k

I recall that in one of the first television fights that I got an opportunity to watch in 1998 when first covering women's boxing on WBAN, I saw a fantastic bout between Bridgett Riley vs. Yvonne Trevino....The bout took place on February 15, 1998, where Trevino was defending her IFBA World Bantamweight title.

I remember at the time that I was very impressed with Riley and Trevino when watching the ten-round world championship.

I recalled at the time that while she was professionally boxing, she was also doing stunt work in the Los Angeles area, and that she was one of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Just recently, WBAN caught up with Riley and she gave us a current update as to what she has been doing since leaving the sport.

It is almost a question of, "Where do I begin" to give boxing fans the latest on this fantastic athletic!

Riley told WBAN this week that she has continued doing stunt work, after boxing,  that includes one of her favorite photos from the film, STAR TREK BEYOND" AND a very long list of all the different movies and shows she has been involved with.

Riley said, "I am loving life in paradise, Naples, Florida with my husband.  I help him when I'm not running around the world filming movies and TV shows."

"I bounce back and forth to Los Angeles, but lately...I've been fortunately filming everywhere but in LA. The business has spread
ALL over the world these days. it is all very exciting."

"I recently finished filming the MARVEL series (pilot) for "INHUMANS" in Hawaii. I shot the PILOT. it was AWESOME. it had an IMAX Theatrical release and then went to Prime Time Television. I had an absolute blast and worked with one of my best girlfriend's in the business," added Riley.

Riley also shot the PILOT for the STEPHEN KING series, "MR. MERCEDES" in South Carolina.  Riley said, "it was very creepy COOL.  I wrapped a MULTI- season TV series called, "GRIMM" - where I filmed in Portland, Oregon. THAT was one of the BEST shows I have EVER had the pleasure of working on. I played a handful of creatures and I stunt-doubled the one and only MARY ELIZABETH MASTRANTONIO.  I also filmed the last "STAR TREK: BEYOND" feature film in Vancouver. I stunt-doubled actress Sofia Boutella as the character Jaylah."

Riley told WBAN, "It was a lot of fun having FULL head prosthetics made for me by Oscar winning SPFX Makeup Artist and Master Monster Maker - Barney Burman.  Performing in the parameters of these extreme conditions makes it not only difficult to see, but breathing becomes a chore when performing action as I morph into these CREEPY monsters. Seeing how the artists bring us to life on camera is amazing."

Riley is also about to work on her book, with friend and writer/photographer Martin Brown. He owns his company "GLOBAL PROTECTION SYSTEMS" and he has invited her on board there.  Riley said that she felt it was a extreme privilege to be in his and his team's company.  They provide knowledge, training, and security for high end people and situations. She and her husband  will be joining him in the UK this May for the UK MARTIAL ARTS SHOW (THE NO. 1 UK EXPO). that she said she was very excited.

Besides her busy work as a stunt woman among many other things, she just recently completed the NAPLES CITIZEN'S POLICE DEPARTMENT ACADEMY.  She is training, and is getting involved in training of others in classes, public speaking, and seminars across the world.

Riley said on her biography, "I encourage ALL to press forward, take risks, and just give it a shot. It is OK to get nervous and feel anxiety. All of that is fine. But use it as fuel and as an accelerator - NOT a brake. Dream big and take it one step at a time. There are no limits to what we are all capable of achieving at any age."
