(AUG 16) Brazilian Born New Zealander Geovana Peres (2 - 1 - 0), will be going for her second New Zealand title on October 13th at ABA Stadium in Auckland against Trish Vaka.

Peres has accomplished so much in her career so far, including becoming the first ever person from the LGBT+ community to win a New Zealand professional title, in any gender. She has won an amateur New Zealand Golden gloves title, debut in March 2017 and won her Pro title that same year.

Peres won the New Zealand National Boxing Federation version for the New Zealand Boxing Light Heavyweight Title, against former top 10 world ranked Nailini Helu. Now she wants to go a step further and win another title.

This October, Peres will be aiming to win the New Zealand Professional Boxing Commision version of the New Zealand Heavyweight title. If she wins this title, not only will she hold two titles, but also be the first female New Zealand boxer to hold two types of title.

Peres opponent is Northland's own Trish Vaka. The 30 year old boxer will be making her pro debut in September on Andrew Higgins show against another debutant, Lani Daniels. Win lose or draw, Vaka will still get her opportunity against Peres.

Earlier last week, New Zealand boxer Alrie Meleisea (3 - 0 - 0) achieved an amazing ranking of 6th place in the WBA Rankings. Earlier this year Meleisea reach the rankings of 4th place in the world on boxrec for a short period of time of a week. Geovana Peres Career goal is not only to get a ranking spot on one of the major four sanctioning bodies (WBA, WBO, IBF, WBC), but to receive a world title shot. Peres is also hoping to face Alrie Meleisea some time in her career, as well as a rematch against Sarah Long (2- 2- 0).
