Two Female Bouts Featured on California Card!
January 24, 2017

(JAN 24) On Saturday night (January 21, 2017) at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton, California, Jamie "The Miracle" Mitchell, 120, making her pro debut, won a four-round unanimous decision over Dalia "La Pantera" Gomez, 120, who was also making her pro debut.  Final judges scores were 35-37.  Both are former amateurs, in what the sport is seeing a trend of amateurs turning pro.

In a post-fight interview of Mitchell, she showed what a champion she is in the sport when she gave her opponent full credit for bringing on a tough fight and giving full respect to Dalia Gomez.

In a flash from the past....in 2013, WBAN awarded Mitchell a special award for the most inspirational boxer at a fight night at the Beautiful Brawlers amateur boxing event, promoted by Blanca Gutierrez,  that took place at the Sportshouse, in Redwood City, California.

In a second female middleweight bout,  Raquel Miller, now 3-0-0 (2KO), made it a short night for her opponent, Latashia Burton, 4-7-0 (0KO), when she stopped Burton in the third round, after a barrage of combinations,  in a scheduled six round bout.  Miller said on Facebook after her win, "Special thank you to all my family, friends and fans for all the love and support last night. It was amazing and we were in the building, THE BAY AREA BABY! We got the win and move on to 3-0 (2 KOs)! I'm blessed to be surrounded with so much love and support and I can't thank you all enough!" (she also included thanking her coach and more.)
