Tonight:  Huge Fight in Women’s Boxing to take Place in New York!
January 14, 2017

(JAN 14) Tonight at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York, Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano will be facing Yazmin Rivas in a ten-round bout where she will be defending her Junior Featherweight WBO world title, in addition for the WBC Diamond belt, and the WBAN Independent belt.  The boxing card is jointly promoted by Mayweather Promotions and DiBella Entertainment.

At the scales yesterday, for their official weigh-inn, both Serrano and Rivas had no problem making weight, where Rivas got on the scales first at the weigh-in and came in at 121.5, and Serrano at 120.9.

In addition to the prestigious WBO belt, the fighters will be competing for the WBAN belt, a title unique to Women's boxing, originated in 2004, which has as it's stated goal, recognition of special individual bouts matching the elite boxers in a given weight class, the "best of the best", in the sport. Past holders of the WBAN belt include Holly Holm, Chevelle Hallback, Myriam Lamare and Anne Sophie Mathis.

The female bout will be aired on Showtime Extreme, at 7PM ET/PT.
