by Sue TL Fox
November 28, 2016

(NOV 28)  On Saturday night, November 26th, at the Gimnasio Municipal, Torreon, Coahuila de Zaragoza, Mexico, promoted by promotion of Promociones Del Pueblo, and televised on "La Tradicion, Sabados de Box" Ibeth Zamora Silva, 108, of San Cristóbal Huichochitlán, México, won by a third round TKO over Nina Stojanovic, 107.5, of Belgrade, Serbia in a scheduled 10-round bout.

Silva improved her record to 27-5-0 (12KO), and delivering Stojanovic her first loss as a pro, falling to 9-1-0 (3KO). Silva was defending her WBC Light Flyweight title.

In viewing the three rounds on video, Silva did not appear to have trouble dominating each round.  In the second round, Stojanovic took an eight count when she went down to the canvas, leaving the score in the second round at 10-8 for Silva.  In the third round after Silva stalked her opponent,  throwing a barrage of combinations, getting her opponent on the ropes, the referee intervened and stopped the fight.

Silva first won the WBC light flyweight title when she won it in March of 2013, after she defeated Naoko Shibata by a third round TKO. She went on to defend this title, against Maricela Quintero in June of 2013; Ava Knight, October of 2013; Jessica Chavez, November 2014; Jolene Blackshear, May 2015; Esmeralda Moreno, September 2015; Mari Ando, March 2016, and Keisher McLeod Wells, July 2016. Before winning the WBC Lightweight title, she held the WBC Youth light flyweight title; and the WBC Youth Minimum title, along with the WBA interim minimum title.

Her opponent, Nina Stojanovic held the (WBF/WIBF/GBU) super flyweight titles.  One of the most noted boxers that Stojanovic defeated was Eva Voraberger.
