(NOV 15) As promised by
Sabrina Perez (15-0-1), in a
recent WBAN article, that was published on September
20, 2016, Perez informs WBAN that her opponent is Alondra
Garcia (16-2-1), of Mexico.
On November 26, 2016, at the
Campo Recreativo SEOCA, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Perez and
Garcia will go head-to-head for the vacant WBO World Women's
Bantamweight title.
For "La Magnifica" Garcia, this will be her third world title
fight; albeit, two divisions higher than what she's used to
fighting. One would wonder why would Garcia move up to 118 lbs.,
to fight Perez who seems to have a weight advantage?
WBAN reached out to both camps to get their take and this is
what was said;
According to Garcia and her Trainer Oswaldo Chavéz Marin, with a
height of 5' 4", Garcia measures up to her opponent "La
Muñequita" Perez who is also 5' 4" tall. They said that they
have viewed videos of Perez and that they are confident with
Garcia's style and boxing skills that they can defeat Perez, at
118 lbs. Reason they accepted the challenge.
Sabrina Perez said that she is grateful for the opportunity of
vying for a third world title against a fighter like "La
Magnifica" who has good fighting techniques and who can really
bring on. Perez also said she is aware of her potential weight
advantage over Garcia but that she isn't depending on that fact
to determine her victory.
WBAN looks forward to viewing this world title bout between
Sabrina Perez and Alondra Garcia...
