(AUG 27)   In a recent report published by La Esquina Azul (Original publication written in Spanish link, Esmeralda "Joya" Moreno attended the WBC's weekly "Martes de Café" gathering held at the WBC Headquarters in Mexico City, to personally meet with WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán and request a review of her fight against WBC Female Jr. Flyweight Champion Jessica "Kika" Chavez.

In her petition to the WBC, Moreno expresses her disappointment in being declared the loser in her title fight against Chávez. She mentioned that should fight video be reviewed that it will clearly show she defeated Kika.

The "Jewel " had the opportunity to speak directly with Mauricio Sulaiman about her fight with " Kika " Chavez.

Esmeralda Moreno is sure that she won the fight she had against Yessica Chavez and that she and not "Kika" should be the WBC Flyweight Champion.

So Esmeralda herself attended the World Boxing Council headquarters personally to ask WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman, to send her bout with Yessica for review.

We'll have to see if the WBC proceeds or not.

The fact that Moreno mentioned the importance of this revision is because of this kind of dubious failure which jeopardizes the credibility of sport and the spirit of the people who box as well as the public that tunes into the fights.
