Ramona Kühne to defend WBO and WIBF Titles on July 16th

(JULY 7)  On July 16, 2016,  at the Max Schmeling Halle, in Berlin in Germany, WBO/WIBF World Super Featherweight Champion Ramona Kühne, defends her titles against Ikram Kerwat of Tunisia, who now resides in Germany.

Ramona, who holds a record of 24-1-0, (9 KO), and comes in with 9 consecutive wins, suffering her only loss, to Ina Menzer, in January of 2010, that took place in Bordelandhalle, Magdeburg, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany.

About Ramona Kuhne:  5'7" Kühne was born in Berlin, Germany on January 31, 1980. The younger of two daughters of a truck driver, Kühne preferred to spend time with her father in his workshop than to play with girls her age, and played soccer with boys. Her childhood idol was action superstar Jackie Chan. She tried to emulate Chan and at age 12 began in the martial art discipline yiu yutsu - against her parents' will.

Her decision paid off as her yiu yutsu career was crowned with success. She was the Berlin and German champion several times and in 2000 she claimed the bronze medal at the world championship in Sweden.

Kerwat, on the other hand, has 6 pro bouts, with five of those by KO.  Fighting Kuehne will probably be one of Kerwat's toughest challenges in her boxing career thus far.

Kerwat began in Judo in her native Tunisia winning the Africa Championships among other awards.

At 13 years old, her family relocated to Berlin, Germany, where she continued practicing Judo, and at age 19, she was introduced to boxing.  Kerwat said that she has loved it ever since!

With the WBO and WIBF World Super Featherweight Crowns at stake this is sure to be one exciting match up between these two.
