Five-Time World Champion Chevelle "Fists of Steel" Hallback Optimistic About Fighting on a Major U.S. Fight Card on HBO
by WBAN Resource Team
June 24, 2016

(JUNE 24)  During a 19-year professional career as a prize fighter, Chevelle Hallback has accumulated a record of 30 wins, 8 losses, 2 draws.

In her trajectory, Chevelle captured five World Boxing Championships (WIBF Featherweight title, IBA Super Featherweight title, WIBA Super Featherweight title, IFBA Lightweight title, WBF Welterweight title, and the history-first WBAN belt, respectively), and at months shy of her 45th birthday, Chevelle is eager to fight any of the top fighters in the Super Lightweight and Welterweight divisions.

Chevelle has fought the likes of; International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame inductees Bonnie Canino, Laura Serrano, Diedre Gogarty, and Jeannine Garside, as well as, Melissa Hernandez, Cecilia Braekhus, Holly Holm, Myriam Lamare, Belinda Laracuentes, Melissa Del Valle, Fujin Raika, Layla McCarter, Alicia Ashley, just to name some.

Chevelle Hallback told WBAN; "Many people thought that I retired and/or that I was done (Chevelle giggles), but I'm far from hanging up my gloves.

For years I've dreamed of fighting on HBO. Again, many said that will "never happen" but I'm not letting that deter me from seeking that opportunity. For now, my focus is on getting fights," Chevelle said.

When asked which fighters she would love to compete with and why, Chevelle responded;

"It really doesn't matter as long as I'm fighting anyone at 140 to 147 pounds. I'm not one to call people out but there are some potential match ups I would love to be a part of and I have a list of interesting fighters I can see myself fighting against. Let me get it (slight pause), ok, here are some of the best fighters out there, Erica Farias, Klara Svensson, Alejandra Oliveras, Mikaela Lauren, Fernanda Alegre, Svetlana Kulakova, Ornella Domini, Ivana Habazin. All of these female fighters are at the top of their game in the 140 and 147 pound divisions. And of course, a rematch against Cecilia. Now that would be an Epic rematch here in the U.S.," Chevelle concluded.

Hallback went on to say that she's never let up on the dream of fighting on HBO. She hopes to be part of that breakthrough. She also mentioned that she's waiting on a call to fight any of the above mentioned fighters.
