"Shotgun" Shannon O'Connell Gets Another Shot at The WBC Silver Super Bantamweight Title

(FEB 12)  Queensland, Australia's "Shotgun" Shannon O'Connell (11-4-1) gets another shot at the WBC Silver Super Bantamweight title when she faces Thailand's Anrey Onesongchaigym (8-2-1).

After signing with Hosking Promotions of Bendigo, VIC, Australia, last summer, Shannon O'Connell has been busy. On September 11, 2015, in Toronto, O'Connell fought a tough 8 rounds against Canada's Sandy Tsagouris in a non-title featherweight bout, which some say, was the "fight of the year" (http://youtu.be/QOcrBc9Uf-w).

Then on November 21, 2015, O'Connell fought Dayana Cordero of Columbia for the vacant WBC Silver Super Bantamweight title but the fight was stopped in the third round after O'Connell suffered a deep gash on her left eye as a result of an accidental head butt.

Now, on April 9, 2016, at the Warnambool Stadium, in VIC, Australia, O'Connell once again has the opportunity of vying for the WBC Silver Super Bantamweight title when she faces Thailand's Anrey Onesongchaigym.

Hosking Promotions also has two other female bouts on the card; former two-division world champion Susie Q Ramadan faces Hongfah Tor Buamas (19-5-0) of Thailand and debutor Cherneka "Neekz" Johnson of faces Wachiraya Chamnankit (0-1-0) of Thailand.
