Worldwide Women's Boxing Action this Weekend!

(NOV 16) This past weekend we had  worldwide boxing action in the sport.  Most of us were anticipating the Rhonda Rousey vs. Holly Holm bout with the UFC, but in our sport we had a lot of great boxing action going on.  Here are the following results and details:

On Friday, November 13th, at the Golden Lion Casino, Mexicali, Mexico, flyweight Tania Enriquez, now 7-0-0 (4KO), remained undefeated when she won by TKO over Brenda Ramos, 6-2-0 (3KO),  in the ninth round of a scheduled 10-round bout.

In Japan on two separate cards, at the Korakuen Hall, in Tokyo, Japan,  Naoko Shibata, 106½, 14-3-1 (4KO), of Tokyo, fought to a controversial split draw with Maria Salinas, 108, 11-4-3 (4KO)
The IBF light flyweight title bout between southpaw Maria Salinas 11-4-3 (4KO), of Coahuila de Zaragoza, Mexico.  This was a fourth defense of  Shibata's IBF light flyweight title;  At the Edion Arena, in  Osaka, Japan,  In a four round minimumweight bout between Maya Uegaki, 103¾, of Osaka, now 1-1-1 (1KO), had a four-round split draw with Sarasa Ichimura, 104½, also of Osaka.  Final judges scores were 38-39, 38-38, and 39-38.

In France, at the Gymnase de la Martine, in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, flyweight Cyrielle Hebert, won her first pro fight, coming into the bout at 0-2-2. She won by points over debuting Nathalie Maurel in a four-round bout.

On Saturday, November 14th, at the Estadio Pascual Perez, Mendoza, Argentina, there were three female bouts on the card. In one bout, super featherweight Yesica Marcos, 127¾, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Miriam Avila, 127. This was a non-title bout according to Boxrec. Final judges scores were 98-92, 99-91, and 100-90. In a second female bout, super featherweight Estefania Karen Alaniz, 128¼, won by DQ over Gloria Yancaqueo, 127; and in a third bout, Alejandra Reynoso, 128¼, won by a second TKO over Pamela Herrera, 129¾, in a scheduled four-round bout.

On this same night at the  Sosua Convention Center, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, super featherweight Cindy Serrano, 131, won a six-round unanimous decision over Grecia Nova, 129½. Final judges scores were 60-53, on all cards.

 

In more boxing action in Argentina, at the Gimnasio Municipal, Pergamino, Buenos Aires, Anahi Esther Sanchez, 12-0-0 (5KO), won by a third round TKO over Ana Lozano, 126. The two were fighting for the Interim WBA Featherweight Title; on another card in Argentina, at the  Libertad, Corrientes, Yohana Janet Rodriguez, 112, won a four-round unanimous decision over Paola Carrizo, 112, pro debut. Final judges scores were 40-36, on all cards.

At the Anhalt Arena, Dessau, Germany, super featherweight Ramona Kuehne, 129½, won by a fifth round TKO over Erika Kalderas, 129½. The two were in a scheduled ten round bout for the WBO super featherweight title; in another female bout on the card, light flyweight, Fabiana Bytyqi, 104¾, won a six-round split decision over Teodora Bacheva, 99. Judges scores were 59-55, 58-56, and 56-58; In a third bout, featherweight Lucie Sedlackova, 124¾, TKO'd 0:55 second Manuela Zulj, 123, in the second round of a scheduled six-round bout; and lastly in a welterweight six-rounder, Bintou Schmill,143½, TKO'd 1:43 seconds, Kristina Bouras, 138, in the first round.

At the Auditorio Miguel Barragan, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico,
Esmeralda Moreno, 111, won by TKO in the sixth round of a scheduled eight round bout over Yesenia Martinez Castrejon, 112.

At another venue in Mexico, at the Arena Coliseo, in Mexico City, Mexico, in a ten rounder for the Mexican super flyweight title, Estrella Valverde won a ten-round unanimous decision over Judith Rodriquez. Final judges scores were 98-93, 97-93, and 96-94.

In the USA, at the Pioneer Event Center, Lancaster, California,
In a bantamweight six, Poula Estrada, 116½, won a unanimous decision over Blanca Raymundo, 114. Final judges scores on all cards were 40-36.

Lastly in Fourmies, France, Segloeve Lefebvre 3-0 won a points victory over Biltitis Gauchus 3-5-1.
