Where are they Now?  WBAN catches up with Cristy “Code Red” Nickel!
October 19, 2015

(OCT 19)  Cristy “Code Red” Nickel (career 2003-2010 in Memphis/Augusta/New York City)

Upon retiring from boxing in 2010, Cristy’s life and career continued to flourish. After appearing on the hit MTV show “MADE,” and working in New York City, she relocated to Boise, Idaho in 2009 to put down roots.

Cristy continued her profession as an Exercise Physiologist and nutritionist. She met Miles in 2010 and married him in December of 2014.

After developing a nutrition program, which teaches clients how to lose weight without dieting, Cristy no longer does personal training but focuses exclusively on nutrition.   WBAN has learned that Cristy’s clients substantial weight without having to diet because she teaches them how to nourish their bodies. Cristy has been the keynote speaker at several events and has clients throughout the United States/Alaska.

Cristy and Miles travel extensively. They ride their road and mountain bikes throughout Europe and the US. They split time between their house in Boise and their mountain cabin 2 hours north. They adopted a German Shorthair Pointer from the humane society this past spring and she has enriched their lives greatly! She goes on all of their mountain bike trips and her incredible endurance/speed keeps her in front on the trails.

Cristy continues to follow and support women’s boxing and the female MMA fighters.

Cristy told WBAN that she is grateful for all that boxing gave her and reminisces about her fighting days. She remains friends with Melissa Hernandez and other female fighters and still draws on the strength that boxing helped her develop.

Cristy said, “Whenever times get tough, I tell myself: Come on, Cristy! This is not as tough as fighting!”
