Chevelle Hallback At the 2015 IWBHF Induction Ceremony
by WBAN
July 17, 2015

(JULY 17) 5x World Female Boxing Champion Chevelle Hallback attended the 2nd International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame induction ceremony held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Pier 66, where in addition to this memorable event, former World Female Boxing Champions Bonnie Canino and Yvonne Reis hosted the 2015 National Women's Golden Gloves.

Chevelle Hallback tells WBAN that she was excited about having attended this year's IWBHF ceremony and of catching up with former rivals Laura Serrano, Melissa Hernandez, Bonnie Canino, Alicia Ashley and Jeannine Garside, all former World Female Boxing Champions, and/or current World Champions and many others in the sport.

"Seeing so many important women of the sport together in one place made me proud to be among them. And the little girls at the National Golden Gloves Finals reminded me of when I was little and wanted to box. Man, I'm on fire!," said Chevelle.

WBAN asked Chevelle if she intended on fighting again, and Chevelle said that she's in training right now in Florida.

"I've been in the sport since 1997, that's 18 years that I've dedicated my life to boxing and that's not counting the years I boxed before turning pro.

I'm 43 and I feel 20. Right now, I'm preparing to challenge Erica Farias, Alejandra Oliveras, Ana Laura Estuche, Klara Svensson, Noni Tenge, Fernanda Alegre, Ornella Domini and of course a rematch with Cecilia Braekhus. Chevelle said.

Chevelle continues; "I understand that the WBC has the Silver Welterweight title vacant, I ask Mikaela if she wants to make it happen let's make it happen at 147lbs, and for the WBC Silver Welterweight title." WBAN is looking forward to hearing more about Chevelle Hallback's training and next opponent.
