Argentina:  Cecilia Mena Wins by a Decision over Aline Scaranello
October 19, 2014

(OCT 19) On Friday night, October 17th, at the  Club Defensores de Villa Lujan, San Miguel, Tucuman, Argentina, Cecilia "La Panterita" Mena, 126, now 10-1-1 (5KO), of San Miguel, Tucuman, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Aline "La Ponderosa" Scaranello, 125.5, now 7-1-0, of Sao Pablo, Brazil.  The two were fighting for the WBC Latino featherweight title. Final judges scores were 100-90, 100-90, and 93-97.

At the scales the day before that was held at the Hilton Hotel, both easily made weight.  Photo: LaGaceta.com.ar/Facebook.

According to Boxing Total on Facebook they said the following: "Cecilia Mena did not disappoint the fans that was to accompany Friday night outpointing  Aline Scaranello.  Scaranello went out to fight without fear and showed a good level. She endured in the early rounds the ravages of "Pantera" without suffering too many mishaps. The strategy of Scaranello was to wait and try to counterpunch.
In the sixth round Scaranello turned up the heat and left Mena bleeding from her nose. But that did not ease the pressure that Mena applied to Scaranello, throwing a barrage of combination."
