(SEPT 25) This weekend boxing
actions begins with the following bouts....on Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Club Atlético Defensores
de Villa Cassini, Capitan Bermudez, Santa Fe, Argentina, super
flyweight Paola Benavidez, 2-0-0 (0KO), of Resistencia,
Argentina, will fight in a non-title six rounder against Vanesa
Taborda, 6-2-0 (0KO), of Cordoba, Argentina. Benavidez has had
two fights in 2014, and aims to continue to be busy in the
sport. This will be fight number five for Taborda in 2014.
At the Club Estudiantes, Pehuajo, Buenos Aires, Argentina, super
bantamweight Laura Soledad Griffa, 2-0-0, of Buenos Aires, will
fight a four-round bout against Norma Caucota, 2-19-1, also of
Buenos Aires. Caucota has fought 6 times this year, doing
slightly better by winning two, one draw and three losses. Prior
to 2014, she had 16 straight losses...Ouch!
In Berlin, Germany, at the Audi-Centrum lightweight Alicia
Kummer, 1-0-0 (1KO), Hamburg, Germany, will face Catalina Lazar,
0-1-0, of Tulcea, Romania in a four-round bout.
There are three female bouts on a card in Whitehall, New York,
but no info on the venue. According to Boxrec, Melissa St. Vil
will fight Nicole Woods; Ronica Jeffrey vs. Stacey Reile; and
Sarah Kuhn vs. Olivia Fonseca. We received no information on
this card.
On Saturday, September 27th, at the Club Social y Deportivo
Isidro Casanova,Buenos Aires, Argentina, super bantamweight
Sabrina Perez, 11-0-1 (2KO) will be fighting for the WBC Silver
super bantamweight title, in a 10 round bout against Florencia
Canteros. The fight will be televised on Argentina TYC Sports.
Both Perez and Canteros fight out of Buenos Airles.
In Belgium, at the Zaal Ogierlande, Gits, lightweight Delfine
Persoon, 29-1-0 (13KO), of Roeselare, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
will face Judy Wagut, 13-6-3 (4KO), Nairobi, Kenya. The two will
be fighting in a non-title eight round bout.
At the Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena, Skopje, Macedonia, Maria
Semertzoglou, 2-0-0 (1KO), Athens, Greece, will fight a
four-rounder against Galina Gumliiska, 10-32-0 (1KO), Sofia,
Bulgaria.
In Moscow, Russia, at the Dynamo Palace of Sports, Svetlana
Kulakova will be fighting for the WBA light welterweight in a
10-round bout against Ana Laura Esteche, 10-3-2 (2KO), Buenos
Aires, Argentina.
At the ABC Sports Complex, Springfield, Virginia, Tori Nelson,
in a 10-round bout, she will be defending her title against
Arlene Biencowe, 2-2-0. In a six-rounder Tyrieshia Douglas will
face Whitney Gunter, 0-1-0.
