Franchon Crews Sings Anthem At Historic Event

(SEPT 15) Team USA member, World Silver Medalist Franchon “The Heavy Hitting Diva” Crews performed the national anthem at the “Star Spangled Spectacular Celebration” held at Ft. McHenry in Baltimore, MD. She also read the second verse of the anthem in the ceremonial reading along side Iconic General Colin Powell and others. Best known for her boxing talents and representing the USA in international competition, she was extremely excited and honored to share this moment with her city and country. Franchon TKO’ed the crowd with her performance on Sept. 14th 2014.

Summary of Program:

A procession of modern and living history military units, represented by the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and the Fort McHenry Guard, kicks off this real-time anniversary program. The ceremony will feature artillery salutes, patriotic music and a reading of the four stanzas of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by individuals with unique ties to the American flag. At 9:00 AM, the precise moment that the historic flag was raised, inspiring Francis Scott Key to write “The Defence of Fort McHenry,” the 15-star/15-stripe, full-size replica Star-Spangled Banner flag will be raised over Fort McHenry. 1st reading by 10 yr old Caroline Christensen representing "The Future", 2nd verse reading by Franchon Crews "International Boxing Champion and Aspiring Olympian", 3rd verse reading by General Colin Powell "Iconic American Figure" 4th verse reading by Ken Nacke "Baltimorean brother of passenger Louis Nacke who perished 9/11 on United Airlines flight 93".
