Carlette Ewell to fight Sonya Lamonakis in Rematch for vacant IBO title

(JULY 20)  On August 2, 2014, on the "War in Paradise" boxing card, at the L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium, in Philipsburg, St. Maarten, in a long awaited rematch between Carlette "The Truth" Ewell, 15-7-1 (9KO), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Sonya "The Scholar" Lamonakis, 9-1-2 (1KO), of New York, NY, will settle the score in this neutral territory for the two, after their first fight that took place in January 2012 where the two fought to a split six-round draw in New York.

Lamonakis, the reigning New York State women's heavyweight champion, and Ewell the reigning UBC and UNBC Women's World Heavyweight champion, as well as a three-division world champion, and a five-time world champion will be fighting in 10-rounds of boxing action for the vacant IBO heavyweight title.

Other boxing action will have six bouts featuring men's boxing that include the following: Denis Douglin vs. Eduardo Mercedes, 10 rounds, non-title; Scott Burrell vs. Alberto Paez, six rounds, heavyweight; Dean Burrell vs. Willy Morillo, six rounds, light welterweight; Sydney Maccov vs. Justin Gogulski, four rounds, welterweight; Rayen Brete vs. Loydd Hinds, four rounds, light welterweight; and Nezar Regales vs. TBD, four rounds, light middleweight.

The event is promoted by Mr. Bobby Ottley of BOSE Promotions.  All bouts are subject to change.
