WBAN Celebrates 16 Years on the Net!
by Sue TL Fox
May 13,  2014

(MAY 13) As unbelievable as it even sounds to me, WBAN is celebrating this month 16 years on the net!

Little did I know that when I began my journey of covering the sport that WBAN would become one of the major forces in the sport.

In May of 1998, I went live on the net to simply straighten out the crazy history that was not documented correctly.  I wanted the world to know that there were women boxers much earlier than what we were reading about the sport on the net with the current boxers in the late 1990's.

What was the shocker though is that the current boxers began contacting me and telling me the problems of what was going on while they were boxing.   I went from being a historian of the sport to an advocate of the sport for many of the  female boxers, both amateur and pros who shared with me the problems in the sport.

What was strange to me, is that many of the problems that they were facing  in the late 1990's were some of the same problems, I faced in the late 1970s.

I want to personally thank all of you for your continued support of WBAN.   I am thankful for all the many people I have had the opportunity to meet in the sport.
