Boxing Action Worldwide on the Weekend

(MAY 5)  It looks like we will have quite a bit boxing action on Saturday, May 10, 2014.  WBAN has listed quite a few bouts according to Boxrec and other sources.

First off, in Whitehall, New York card, Ronica Jeffrey, 13-0-0 (1KO), Brooklyn, New York, is scheduled to fight Carla Torres, 3-2-0, Cleveland, Ohio. The bout is reportedly to be for the vacant WIBA Featherweight title. This will be a rematch for the two, whereas Jeffrey defeated Torres by a four-round unanimous decision in 2011.

Also, in a second bout listed, but no opponent is named. Boxrec lists Jennifer Woodard fighting on the card in the lightweight division.

In Venezuela, at the Polideportivo José María Vargas, in La Guaira, there are two female bouts on the card. Ogleidis Suarez, 19-3-1 (8KO), of Caracas, Venezuela, will fight Calixta Silgado,11-3-1 (8KO) Colombia, fighting 10 rounds for the interim WBA Super featherweight title. In another bout,  Edith Soledad Matthysse, 12-6-1 (1KO), of Trelew, Argentina, will be defending her WBA Featherweight title against, in 10 rounds, against Mayerlin Rivas, 8-3-1 (6KO).

In the USA, at the Buffalo Thunder Casino, Sante Fe, New Mexico,  Natalie Roy will be fighting of Sante Fe, in a four rounder, no opponent listed.

Update: Looking for opponent for McCarter!  Another in the USA, at the Galen Center, in Los Angeles, California, Layla McCarter, 35-13-5 (8KO), of Las Vegas, Nevada vs. TBD.  The fight can be four rounds or possibly six.   Any of you especially from California looking for some boxing action in the ring - get a hold of Team McCarter---she needs an opponent. In Germany, at the Europahalle, in Karlsruhe, Caroline Schroeder, 4-1-0 (3KO), of Berlin, Germany, will fight 10 rounds against Manuela Zuli, 2-3-1, Imotski, Croatia.

On another card in the Germany, Victoria Cisneros, 11-14-2 (4KO), will be fighting for three belts, [WIBA, WBF, UBF] in 10 rounds against Rola El-Halabi, 13-1-1 (7KO) of Germany. In a second female bout, Nicole Werner vs. TBD, six rounds, lightweight divison.

In addition, in Pfinzhalle, Dettenheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, Melanie Zwecker, 5-0-0 (2KO), of Karlsruhe, will fight Grecia Nova, 11-20-4 (8KO), for the vacant WBF Featherweight title. In a second bout, Claudia Schemmer, 0-1-0, of Germany will face Marina Sakharov, 1-7-2, of France, in four rounds, featherweight divison.

In Hungary, Lurdy Shopping House, in Budapest, Agnes Draxler, 6-6-0, of Hungary will take on Csilla Nemedi, 4-0-0 (3KO), of Sopron, Hungary, eight rounds, flyweight.

And in the "Mystery" of the night,  Hyun-Mi Choi, is fighting a 0-1-0 boxer Thongmanit Siriwan, for the WBA Super Featherweight title---must we say more?

Less action on Friday night...
 

On Friday night, in Urheilutalo, Helsinki, Finland, Eva Wahlstrom, 9-0-1 (3KO), of Finland, fights Karina Kopinska, 4-7-0 (1KO), of Poland. Six rounds, Featherweights.

At the Parque Central, Neuquen, Neuquen, Argentina, Mayra Alejandra Gomez, 15-3-0 (4KO), of Argentina, Carolina Marcela Gutierrez Gaite, 21-3-1 (13KO), also from Argentina, 10 rounds, for interim WBO Bantamweight title.
