(FEB 21) Super-flyweight champion Melissa McMorrow (9-3, 1 KOs) of Palo Alto, California, USA and former WBC world champion Mariana Juarez (38-7, 16 KOs) of Mexico City met Thursday afternoon at the Yak Casino of Plaza las Palmas in Puebla, Mexico for their final press conference.

The two are set to fight Saturday night for Juarez's WBC International super-flyweight title at the Miguel Hidalgo Gym live on Televisa Deportes.

“We are very excited to once again put a great boxing show from top to bottom. These are fights that the fans enjoy. Female Boxing is living a tremendous moment,” Edgar Alejandre said in opening Thursday’s proceedings.

The former WBC world champion Mariana Juarez made her final comments as she was greeted with a massive ovation from her team. “As a boxer you always want to fight the best and that is the case when I fight Melissa McMorrow,” Juarez said. “We have prepared ourselves one hundred percent to give a war and that’s what you all want. We won’t let you down. I am sure the biggest winners will be the fans and the sport of boxing because this fight is going to be a total war.”

McMorrow who is searching her first WBC title, stated “I won’t disappoint. I promise you a great fight like I always do and I expect a total war against Mariana Juarez, a tough opponent that I have ahead of me. I want to fight nothing but the best. I am ready. Saturday you’ll witness a tremendous fight from both of us. Let the best woman win and who knows this might be fight of the year?

WBC international Silver lightweight champion Miguel "Mickey" Roman (44-11, 33 KOs) of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and dangerous Mexican Omar Estrella (18-6, 11 KOs) of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico were also on hand as they will square off in the co-feature for Roman's green belt.

Another tremendous Card taking place, will feature Abdiel "Mortero" Ramirez (21-1, 10 KOs) from Ciudad Juarez vs Guadalupe Rosales (31-10, 17 KOs) from San Luis Potosi, in a WBC FECOMBOX lightweight title which currently belongs to Ramirez.

This card is promoted by Promociones del Pueblo with the support of Yak Casinos and Duralast Auto-Parts and will be televised live by Televisa Deportes in Mexico.
