(FEB 16) Before her travel
to the City of Puebla, Mexico, World Boxing Council (WBC)
international super-flyweight champion, Mariana “Barbie” Juarez,
did her last training at the Golden Boy Gym in Mexico City,
where she also shared with the WBC International Silver
heavyweight champion Manuel “Diamond Boy” Charr, who is visiting
Mexico on the occasion of the election of our president Mauricio
Sulaiman.
Juarez (38-7, 16 KOs), who is
currently ranked number one in the world (WBC), spent several
days at the Centro Ceremonial Otomi in preparation for the
second defense of her WBC international title.
The bout, which is the main event of the boxing card "ALERTA
MAXIMA", will be held next Saturday February 22 at the Gimnasio
Miguel Hidalgo of the City of Puebla, against the US American
world champion Melissa “Mighty” McMorrow.
“La Barbie” wrapped up her
sparring session with 3 different sparring partners and also
performed the pre-weighin required by the WBC and made 115
pounds. She will travel to Puebla on Monday with her trainer
Alejandro Camacho.
“I’m ready to fight Melissa Mc
Morrow, I respect her and it will be a great fight. I only have
a few days where I have to keep this weight and speed. By
winning on Saturday I want to then go on to face the best of the
world,” Juarez said.
This great event is organized by Promociones del Pueblo, with
the support of Yak Casinos; and will have a luxury undercard
with the spectacular presence of Miguel "Mickey" Roman and
Abdiel "Mortero" Ramirez.
