(MAY 9) WBAN has received a
latest update on the Serrano sisters, Amanda "The Real Deal"
Serrano and Cindy "Checkmate" Serrano.
Tomorrow night at the Coliseo Carlos 'Teo' Cruz, Santo Domingo,
Dominican Republic, Cindy Serrano will be fighting a 10-rounder
against Grecia Nova.
The Serranos' told WBAN, "We have been real busy doing lots of
interviews and photo shoots for magazines, with two which we will be
featured on the Covers. The magazines are Fuzion Magazine and Latin Trends magazine."
"Also we have been doing appearances
and more photo shoots for our
sponsors Drink 989 (a vitamin water) as well as shooting a few
videos. With all this we haven't been able to really focus on
boxing."
"Amanda is negotiating a fight for the IBF 130 lb title
against Claudia Lopez of Argentina. The fight has to be
finalized by June 6th. Amanda is ranked #1 so we are the
mandatory. All in all we are still going to continue trying to
fight when ever possible."
"Getting fights in the states is not
easy so we have channeled our time and interest elsewhere. Boxing
will remain in our hearts and we will try to teach others who
don't know through our media work that female boxing is Real and
should be main streamed. Maybe the ones after us get lucky and get
a better break."
