St. Johns Wins by Decision over Martin

(AUG 15) Last night at the Table
Mountain Casino, in Friant, California, Mia St. John defeated
Christy Martin by a 10-round unanimous decision. The two were
fighting for the vacant WBC junior Welterweight title. Tthe
first time that St. John and Martin fought was in 2002, where
Martin won that bout by decision. After the bout took place,
Martin and St. John both announced they were retiring. Final
judges scores were 96-94, 96-94, and 97-93.
