Just In: Skirts are Optional for female boxers in Olympics
By Sue TL Fox
February 25, 2012

(FEB 25)  It has now been determined by the AIBA that the women boxers can now choose to wear a skirt.

What now? Are female amateur boxers supposed to get on their knees and say "thank you" for not having "gender discrimination" enter into the "first time" Olympics in 2012 for female boxers?

Why was it even EVER brought up as a possibility in the FIRST PLACE, as something the female boxers may have to do to compete in the Olympics---if it had not been made "optional."

And while we are on the topic of the Olympics, next time around----in the 2016 Olympics----lets have TEN weight classes for female boxers "like the males." Cramming women boxers into just THREE weight classes defeats the point a little bit...don't you think?

Women "dropping" weight, "gaining" weight to fit in only THREE weight classes?

Isn't "Boxing" very specific to weight classes and fighting in the "proper" weight class?
