(JAN 29) Ela Nunez, 126, Rochester, stuns nearly 2,100 at the Turning Stone Casino with a one-punch stoppage of the hard-charging Jackie Trivilino, 126.5, Watertown, in the second of a scheduled six.

Nunez was in command from the opening bell, countering Trivilino’s swarming attacks with several crisp counter crosses and hooks enabling her to comfortably win the first round. Trivilino struggled to land solid punches against the crafty Nunez who looked to keep the action in the middle of the ring.

The end came early in the second round when Nunez landed a picture-perfect counter right cross on the chin that dropped Trivilino to the canvas. Trivilino appeared unsteady after struggling to her feet, prompting the referee to righteously stop the contest.

With her third stoppage win, Ela Nunez moves to 11-11-2 while Jackie Trivilino suffers her first stoppage loss and drops to 8-4-2 with one kayo.
