(DEC 12)  Last night at the Estadio Centenario, Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, Katy Guiterrez stopped her opponent by KO in the fourth round of a 10-round bout. The two were fighting for the IBF Strawweight belt. Also, Maureen Shea won a 10-round Maj. dec. over Diana Ayala.

At home before her people, Mochis's own Gutiérrez made a statement knocking out Gretchen Abaniel to defend her IBF Mini-flyweight for the fourth time on HG Boxing's show  featuring three world titles.

According to HG Boxing they said the following:  "At the start of the fight, Abaniel tried to surprise the local fighter throwing some quick combinations to the head, but it wasn't effective as Katy stopped the attack with effective counter punching. The fight was pretty even and competitive until the fourth round, when Abaniel was putting pressure on Katy and then got caught by a counter right hook to the chin which made her taste the canvas and left her in bad shape.  Abaniel tried to recover with no luck as Katy took the chance she was given and overwhelmed "Chen Chen" to get the technical stoppage, as referee Jesus Salcedo stopped the barrage of punches.  With this victory Katy retained her belt and proved she is without a doubt a true champion."

In another female bout Maureen Shea defeated Diana Ayala by a 10-round majority decision, 99-91, 96-94, and 95-95. Shea won the WBC Featherweight world title belt.

According to HG Boxing, they stated the following: "From the start of the fight, Shea Carranza showed her superiority attacking with great combinations to the head and the body of the South american, who valiantly resisted the attacks and tried to respond with frenetic attacks.
