AIBA "Skirts" the issue until January 2012

(NOV 8) WBAN has received an update on the ongoing saga of the Boxers' Uniform for Women. In a recent press release, dated November 4, 2011, the AIBA said that the AIBA has recently noticed a strong media/press interest on the issue of Boxers' Uniform for Women.

In this regard, AIBA would like to clarify its current position on the matter:

- AIBA has not made any final decision on Boxers' Uniform for Women

- AIBA plans to call a AIBA Technical and Rules Commission meeting in January 2012 to discuss the issue and to offer recommendations to the AIBA Executive Committee before making its final decision.

- At this point in time, AIBA is seeking a consensus from the worldwide Boxing Family and the wider public for reference purposes.

Boxing fans and others in the sport who wish to give their feedback, go to:
info@aiba.org.  Please take a few minutes to voice your opinion on this topic with them.  Apparently the "disgust" voiced in many news articles is not convincing enough.
