(OCT 22) Melinda “La Maravilla”
Cooper (21-1, 11 KOs) and Ada Velez (19-3-3, 6 KOs) have finally
scheduled a rematch on Sunday, November 20th for the IBF Super
Bantamweight Title.
Their last encounter took place in Costa Rica and resulted in a
split decision win for Velez. Last time out against Velez, the
Las Vegas native, Cooper left the title belt and her unblemished
record behind. It also left a bit of unresolved scoring
controversy that both women are anxious to resolve this time
out. The rematch will take place a little closer to home for
Cooper and, on what she feels, is more neutral soil. The Texas
Station Gambling House and Hotel will stage what has the
potential for explosive action on Sunday, November 20th and it's
one of two female world title bouts being featured by Sampson
Boxing.
WBAN will be at this fight to
cover it in Las Vegas.
