Ji-Hyun Park to fight American Challenger Jodi Esquibel
September 9, 2011

(SEPT 9) Ji-Hyun Park is putting her IFBA Strawweight title on the line one more time. Park, who hasn't lost a bout since 2007, is going for her ninth straight victory when she takes on challenger Jodie Esquibel on November 19, 2011 in Goeje City, South Korea.

This match marks the second time Park (14-2, 5 KO) will step into the ring with Esquibel (6-5-1, 2 KO). Park narrowly beat Esquibel in a very close unanimous decision in July 2009.

Esquibel, who hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is looking for revenge, but knows facing Park in her home country presents a tremendous challenge.

"The key for Esquibel is to start fast,” said IFBA President Judy Kulis. “If Park gets out of the gate early and gains momentum, the passion of the home crowd and Park’s ability to close out a fight will make things very tough on Esquibel.”
