(AUG 1) There will be two
female "Interim" WBA world title bouts set to take place on
Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the Polideportivo José María
Vargas, La Guaira, Venezuela.
In another bout, Ogleidis Suarez, 15-2-1 (7KO), [rated #5
with Boxrec] will be fighting Katy Wilson Castillo, 14-0-0
(9KO).
Although on paper, Castillo
has an "Impressive record", she has fought a string of losers
for that record and is rated "25" on Boxrec. Castillos'
opponents accumulative boxing record is (drum
roll.........)11-71-6. [record].
In the second female bout on the card, Ana Fernandez,
14-5-0 (10KO), will fight Olga Julio, 9-10-1 (5KO). Fernandez is
rated #28 with Boxrec, and Julio, is rated #27. These two are
fighting for the "Interim" strawweight (Minimum) title.
One question....Do these Federations put the "Interim"
world title belt temporarily on these boxers in the ring---and
then snatch the belt from them after the fight?
