(JUNE 17)
Melbourne, Australia--'Dirty' Di Prazak, 129¾, resoundingly
beat New
Zealander Bronwyn Wylie, 128¼, for the Pan Asian Boxing Association and
the WIBA
super featherweight international title over ten rounds tonight,
bringing
her professional record to 7-1 (5KOS).
Wylie drops to 3-2, and although she finished the fight on her
feet,
collapsed soon afterwards and needed medical attention. Wylie
has faced some
tough opposition in her short boxing career including Japan's
Fujin Raika,
with whom she went the distance in 2010, and more recently beat
newcomer
Lauryn Eagle in March this year.
Prazak pushed the action for the entire fight, smashing Wylie's
nose in
round 7, and knocking her to the canvas in the tenth. She scored
with some
accurate right hands that snapped Wylie's head back. But the New
Zealander
survived the middle rounds with good movement, making it awkward
for Prazak
to nail her. The scores were 98-90, 100-91, 98-91 for Prazak, a
former
Australian amateur champion and professional Australian junior
welterweight
champion.
Prazak's manager Adam Wilcock announced that the Australian
would soon be
fighting Canadian Lindsey Garbatt for the WIBA world title,
hopefully in
September.
