All-Women's Boxing Camp held in Coachella
Photos by Sue TL Fox
May 21, 2011

(MAY 21) The Bad Girls Boxing Camp held their one-week boxing camp that began on May 16th. Lori Steinhorst of the BGB, had several amateur and pro female boxers attending the week long camp, with world champions Ann Marie Saccurato and Molly McConnell as the coaches.

The camp was held at the Coachella Valley Boxing Club, that is located in Coachella, California. This gym is spectacular and has had many well-known pro boxers who had trained there that included, Acelina Freitas, Sandra Yard, Antonio Diaz, Javier Jimenez, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Hasim Rahman, Julio Diaz, Jorge Paez, Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya, Pancho Segura, Lee Espinoza, Rafael Ruelas, Roberto Duran.
The Coachella Valley Boxing Club was founded by Lee Espinoza.

I was able to attend the boxing gym  a couple of those days, and was very impressed with the coaching and the energy of the women boxers in trying to improve their skills in the sport.   Check out the photos of the fighters!
