Tonight in New York: Ashley Vs.   Hoy!

(JAN 19) T Alicia "Slick" Ashley of Brooklyn, NY and Crystal Hoy of Las Vegas, NV both weighed in at 121 pounds for their historic junior featherweight title fight tomorrow (Wednesday) night at the Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, NY. The Ashley-Hoy fight will be the first female bout to headline a boxing event in New York City.

In addition, NABF female featherweight champion Maureen "The Real Million Dollar Baby" Shea will be the first reigning female champion to promote a boxing event in New York, as her Pandora Promotions outfit is set to promote alongside Global Boxing.

The Jamaican-born Alicia Ashley has a record of 15-9-1 (1 KO) and is risking her mandatory ranking for the WBC Super Bantamweight. Hoy is 5-3-3 (2 KO) as a professional. The fight is scheduled for eight rounds.

In the six round co-featured bout, former Israeli Navy Crew Commander Eilon Kedem (11-4-4, 7 KO) of Brooklyn by way of Herzelia, Israel weighed in at 121 while Jose "Chili" Rivera (2-2-1) of New Rochelle, NY weighed 118.

Former World Combat League mixed martial arts heavyweight Armin “The Bosnian Prince” Mrkanovic (Pro Debut) of Queens, NY by way of Bosnia weighed in at 193 pounds while Sharieff Hayes (0-1) of Phoenix, AZ weighed 198 for their four round cruiserweight bout. A kickboxing specialist, Mrkanovic made the seamless transition to boxing, making it to the New York Golden Gloves finals twice.

Puerto Rican amateur star Eduardo Ayuso (pro debut) weighed 153 while Cleveland, Ohio's Kevin Walker (pro debut) weighed 148 pounds for their four-round fight.

Rounding out the card, Nicholas Lavine (1-0, 1 KO) of Yonkers, NY weighed 175 pounds while Bakari of Bridgeport, CT weighed 178. 

The Masonic Temple is located at 317 Clemont Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.  Remaining tickets for “Brooklyn Explosion”, priced $75 and $50, can be purchased at the door at the Masonic Temple.
