(SEPT 18) There is something
striking about the small framed, youthful looking scrapper from
South Carolina. It's the manner in which she tells you that she
is a fighter. It is not so much the words as it is the powerful
spirit that lurks behind them. "I know who I am and I know what
I am here to do. I may look small but my heart and my skills are
huge! I came here into West's home town to win this fight.
You gotta know me to understand.
I am not here to play. I am here to make my dream a reality. I
want this and I have worked very hard to prepare for it. My life
is about boxing it's my job and I do my job very well. I know
that this is a huge opportunity to show people who I am and what
I can do. This is our chance to show the world what women's
boxing looks like. There was no mistake in choosing me for this
fight.....this was destiny. I appreciate that Golden Boy has
provided this opportunity because no matter how this goes down,
the fight fans are going to see something great. The people in
my corner...and the people that support me know what I am
capable of.....on fight night, so will Kaliesha West."
Her confidence is solid and so is
her corner. Angel believes in herself and her abilities and so
does her Trainer Dominic Neal. "She can rock you....you better
be paying attention."
There is nothing small about this girl but her frame. If what
they say is true..if dynamite does come in small packages, there
may be some very explosive surprises awaiting us.
