(DEC 17)  Kyla Barraza, has just recently been nominated as a candidate for the Sportswomen of the Year in Colorado. Barraza, age 15.   Barraza just recently won her second State Silver Gloves Boxing Tournament Title and will be competing at the Regional Silver Gloves in Norwalk, California on Jan.7 thru 10th 2010.

Teams at regional’s will consist of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and California teams, winners will advance to the Nationals Silver Gloves to be held in Kansas later on in the month of January 2010.

Kyla, so far this year:

Has won a State Golden Gloves & Jr. Golden Gloves, Junior Olympics and currently Silver Gloves Titles.’ (Holds Four State Titles)

Kyla is also a Regional Jr. Olympic Champion and a Silver Medalist in the Ringside National Tournament of Champions in 2008.

In a two year span she has a boxing record of 16-5.

As a student Kyla also maintains well over a 3.5 grade average.

Kyla’s goals are to become a 2012 Olympian and compete in Olympics Games to be held in London in 2012.
