(JULY 9) BILV [Boxing In Las Vegas]
has been contacted by Team Saccurato (that is Ann Marie Saccurato,
the three-time WBC champion) with a challenge for Layla McCarter.
To Team McCarter:
First, I would like to congratulate you not only on your win against
Raika but on reaching a milestone in the sport with your 50th fight.
That is an "amazing" achievement and one that I have great respect
for, as I do for you not only as a boxer, but as a warrior (coming
from another warrior). With that being said there has been plenty of
talk about a Saccurato/McCarter matchup, and I would like to put all
the talk to rest and just "do the damn thing!"
I understand that you will be
headlining the next American Boxing Promotions card on September
12th in Las Vegas. So, if the offer you gave to Raika of "you
want my belts, well come and get them" is on the table for me,
well then...I'M COMING (but I got something a little more
explosive than fireworks). And, its not really just the belts
I'm coming for, it's the fight.
According to WBC rules I will have to give up my belt in order
to take this fight against you because they will not sanction
12/3 minute rounds, but it is not just the belt around my waist
that defines me as a champion, it is something much greater than
that.
At the same time, I am fully confident in gaining it back as I
have done before, if that is what I need to do because I take
great pride and honor in being the 3x WBC World Champion. So
with that being said, lets let two great warriors in the sport
collide on September 12th and take another step in advancing and
legitimizing this sport, as well as another step towards the
legacies we both choose to leave behind. And, not to be left
out, one of the best matchups in women's boxing, the fight that
everyone wants to see!
Your manager knows exactly who to talk to right there in Las
Vegas to get this fight done, so LETS DO THIS!!
Much love and respect,
TEAM SACCURATO
