traveling under the management of the WOMEN'S BOXING TEAM OF
CENTRAL FLORIDA
The first amateur boxer to join is 21 year-old ALYSIA
WILLIAMS-STEVENSON, daughter of Lady Ram. She has participated
in various tournaments around the state of Florida, but has not
competed in an actual bout. She was awarded the Championship
belt in the Heavyweight Division at the National Golden Gloves
in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and has participated in the Florida
Sunshine State Games in Lakeland, Florida in 2006. Alysia serves
as sparring partner and part-time trainer for Lady Ram and
possess the skills to make an impact in the professional boxing
and mixed martial arts circuits. Lady Rampage, Alysia’s acquired
ring name, is planning on turning professional at the end of
2009. She is married to Ray Stevenson, Jr. who is a major
supporter for her by helping her balance training and their
three sons.
A second member of the team is 14 year-old “Katrina” of Winter
Haven, who joined in need of a positive outlet to redirect her
anger as she learns to cope with the societal stress. Katrina is
a naturally powerful and has displayed promising skills to
advance her quickly through the amateur ranks.
Also, included on the WBTCF is 27 year-old “Tracy” of Lakeland,
who has returned from a 2 ½ year layoff of training. Upon her
return, Tracy has been dedicated and motivated to improve her
skill level so that she can participate in the Women’s Golden
Gloves located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in July.
Another promising boxer is 18 year-old “Lysa”, also of Lakeland,
that many feel possess the ability to box with the best amateurs
in the nation, Lysa, who has 7 years of martial arts experience,
bring a tough fight game to the ring and is expected to prove
that negative energy, if diverted correctly, can lead to
positive, constructive outcomes. Though illness has kept her
weight down below her average of 135 pounds, Lady Ram feels at
112-118 pounds, Lysa will definitely be a reckoning force in
this lower weight range.
The WBTCF, under the supervision of the Polk County Boxing Team
and the regulations of the United States Amateur Boxing, is
excited to possibly represent the United States in the 2012
Olympics. As the WOMEN'S BOXING TEAM OF CENTRAL FLORIDA forms,
