Mann's Final fight in North Carolina
September 3, 2008

(SEPT 3) On August 30, 2008, at the Bette Rae Thomas Rec Arena, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bonnie Mann lost to Nicole Woods by a six-round unanimous decision. The scoring was 60-54 on all cards.

WBAN had been contacting earlier in the week before this fight, and Mann told us that this would be her final fight in the sport.

Mann throws a body shot...

After the fight Mann said, “Well I did not have the outcome that one would hope for on your final fight of your professional career; however it was still one of the most remarkable nights of my career. I would like to thank Team Woods and especially Nicole Woods herself. She displayed class and professionalism well beyond her time in boxing. It will be a pleasure to watch her and the rest of the women in boxing continue to propel us forward with positive recognition. I will continue to be involved with boxers. I will now transition to the other opportunities that are available within boxing. I look forward to remaining active in the boxing community in whatever capacity I see fit.”

Mann added, “I would like to thank my coach, Anthony Bradley, my best friend, training partner and fellow boxer Paul Marinaccio, my partner and our children and all of my co-workers and employer at LA BOXING who have all supported me throughout my boxing career. I look forward to what lies ahead and thank you to Sue Fox and WBAN for the constant and unwavering support for promoting the great women in this sport.”
