(SEPT 1) On Saturday, at the Maritim Hotel, in Dusseldorf, Germany, the first WIBF – GBU Convention was hosted by Spotlight and Universum. Present at the convention was WIBF President Barbara Buttrick, and GBU President Jurgen Lutz.

Items discussed during this one day event were the following: In the next twelve months, they would be considering to change the championship title bouts from 10 rounds at two minutes per round, to 10 rounds at three minutes per rounds, or from the standard 10 round bouts to 12 round bouts. A commission headed by Jurgen Lutz and Marcel Niessen will investigate to see if this change will benefit the sport.
