Press Conference in Indiana
Source: Press Release
June 26, 2008

(June 26) Gary, IN - At the first official press conference for the upcoming historic August 2nd "Steel Yard Brawl" at Railcats Stadium, One In A Million, Inc. President/CEO Octavius James came to introduce the fighters and historical figures of this event. In attendance for the Press Conference was the City of Gary Mayor Rudy Clay and he said about having the "Steel Yard Brawl" in the City of Gary. "This is a fantastic event and we are glad to have an event of this magnitude in the City."

When James was introducing the Main Event for the "Steel Yard Brawl" NABC Light Welterweight Champion "Merciless" Mary McGee (14-0, 8 KOs), he could have never imagined having an eager challenger for McGee in attendance. An enthusiastic Rusty the Railcat, mascot for the Gary Railcats was showing off his boxing skills and ready to challenge the Champion McGee for the title. With McGee showing no signs of backing down James may have the next match up for his Champion already lined up. Rusty was feeling so confident with McGee that he then challenged former Heavyweight Champion of the World Ernie Terrell who was also in attendance for the "Steel Yard Brawl" Press Conference.

McGee will have to put other challengers to the side for now as she is already scheduled to fight the tough Tonya Gallegos of Mexico (4-8, 2 KOs). Also present at the Press Conference from the card was Heavyweight Michael Parker (5-0, 4 KOs) who is facing "Irishman" Scott Conner (11-4, 8 KOs) in a special attraction bout. The thrilling prospect Ed Ochoa (4-0, 4 KOs) will try to keep his perfect ring record and knockout streak in tact. Twenty year old Female Puerto Rican sensation Evette Collazo (3-0, 2 KOs) returns for another high velocity bout, the newest Team One In A Million Fighter Josh Crouch will make his Pro Debut, and a late addition to the fight card, the extremely entertaining Marcus Thompkins (2-0) were all in attendance. The Co-Main Event for the "Steel Yard Brawl", Gary's Own Jermaine "Too Sweet" White (16-3, 8 KOs) was in training camp with Zab Judah and not able to attend. White will be facing Reggie "Two Guns" Nash (9-19, 2 KOs).

The historical significance of this event was truly felt as Former Heavyweight Champion of the World Ernie Terrell addressed the fighters with words of encouragement. Renowned Boxing Author/Historian Sean Curtain was also in attendance for the event. Terrell fought on the last Championship fight card to be held at a Baseball Stadium in Chicagoland at Comiskey Park in 1962 and Curtain was in attendance of that historical event.

When referring to the history this event rekindles James said, "We look to bring back the electricity and excitement of that historical Baseball and Boxing combination on August 2nd, its something that hasn't been done in 45 years in Chicagoland and I am happy to bring this event to my hometown of Gary."

Railcats Owner/CEO Pat Salvi in attendance for the press conference shared in James' enthusiasm about the August 2nd "Steel Yard Brawl" bringing Baseball and Boxing back together, especially doing so on the home field of his newly acquired Railcats.
