(MAY 24) Plans are in the final stages
for Kenyan Featherweight prospect Judy Waguthii and Canadian Sandy
Tsagouris to slug it out on the 21st of June in a non-title eight
rounder.
The well established Tsagouris [7-1] is coming off a
controversial loss Ina Menzer in a March 8th fight in Koenig, German
for the WIBF Featherweight title. Tsagouris is the Canadian
Featherweight champion and is the top draw among female boxers from
Canada.
Though little known Judy Waguthii [6-3-1] from Kenya she has made a
good impression in two title challenges in Asia in 2007.The Kenyan
has faced off with Ji-Hie Woo and Hwa-Won Lee for the IFBA Super
featherweight world title and the WBA Feamale featherweight world
title respectively.
She lost both fights on unanimous decisions.
Judy is regarded as the uncrowned East African queen of the
featherweight division, and she brings to the fight the kind of
worthy foe that would befit a boxer of Tsagouris' calibre.
The fight will be promoted by Stele Promotions at the Hamilton
Centre in Toronto.
