Stone and Nguyen fight is off
October 29, 2007

(OCT 29) WBAN received a letter from Demi “Hard 2 Handle” Nguyen in regards to her disappointment that she will not be fighting Dakota Stone on November 3, 2007, in Oregon.

Demi told WBAN, “I regret to inform you that Dakota Stone and Team Stone refused to follow through with their signed contract to fight me, Demi "Hard 2 Handle" Nguyen, on November 3, 2007. Team Nguyen and I understood that this highly anticipated fight was going to showcase an explosive middleweight bout that featured talent, skill, experience, will, athleticism, and power. It definitely would have answered the requests of boxing fans and silenced the critics. I am shocked at the unprofessionalism from Team Stone especially given her respected reputation and career in the sport. Instead of focusing on the negative side of this kind of unprofessionalism, in which Ms. Stone has openly spoken out against throughout her career, I will take this opportunity to uplift the sport by highlighting the middleweight and super middleweight divisions.”

Demi told WBAN that her next fight date with her promoter, Patrick Ortiz is going to take place on November 29, 2007, in Iowa.   “I have not been briefed about the opponent for this date but I hope it is someone who is ready to fight me. If someone is ready or will be ready in the future please don't hesitate to get in contact with Mr. Ortiz”, added Demi.

Demi said that whether it is an international boxer or in the USA, if they are interested in fighting her, they can contact her promoter, or have their manager contact him.
Email to Promoter: Psoringside

Demi told WBAN, “my team and I are excited about my career and are moving forward to the future of the middleweight and super middleweight divisions and all new and veteran talent being unveiled and supported.”

WBAN contacted Dakota Stone to get her feedback about this upcoming fight and she said, “ As far as I know it is still on, but may be in Washington the following week. I need to get an EEG for the medicals and will be getting it this week. It is tough to get an appointment for that sort of test and I couldn't get it done in time for the fight to be in Oregon. Believe me, I want the fight with Demi.”

WBAN then gave that info to Demi, and she said, “regarding Dakota and the EEG... she had more than enough time to secure taking that test and finding out the result. As for a future fight in Washington, I don't know. It takes a lot of time, physical hard work, and mental preparation to go into any fight. I certainly don't want to waste that on an opponent who is just going to carelessly break the contract at the last minute. I think it is unprofessional and disrespectful to the promoter, our teams, sponsorship, and especially the fans who buy tickets to see us fight. With everything in life, accountability is FIRST. For the record, I don't run from any fighter who wants to be in the ring with me and that is not just lip service. Having said that, I will see what Mr. Ortiz and the rest on my team has to say about possibly rescheduling this fight. “

This upcoming card will be held in Oregon on November 3, 2007, and will have three women's bouts on the card.  Ortiz confirmed that
Dakota was unable to line up her medical tests in time, and that he may be able to put this fight together on a future show.
