(OCT 2) On Sunday, September 30th, at
the Blautal Center, in Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in front of
1,500 people, Rola El-Halabi of Ulm, Germany, won the vacant WIBF
European Championship in the lightweight division, when she defeated
Bulgarian Galina Gumliiska by a 10 round unanimous decision.
In two other women's bouts, junior flyweight Ozlem Sahin, of
Ludwigsburg, Germany TKO'd Albena Atseva, of Bulgaria in the second
round. The bout was scheduled for four rounds. Also, Kira
Schnürer from Karlsruhe, Germany. won by points over Monika Petrova,
of Bulgaria. The bout was in the featherweight division and
scheduled for four rounds.
Special guest at the event was Jr.
Bantamweight World Champion Alesia Graft, of Stuttgart. The
supervisor was Jürgen Lutz from Karlsruhe.
