(AUG 19) Last night at the Civic Center,
in Houma, Louisiana, after not fighting for four years, Jeanne “Boom
Boom” Martinez, 188, now 14-6-4 (5KO), of Sidell, Louisiana,
returned to the sport by fighting pro debuter, Savanna Payne, 183.
Martinez TKO’d Payne in the second round of a scheduled four
rounder.
Martinez is a long-time veteran in the sport who began her boxing
career in 1997, when she fought Valerie Mahfood in her pro debut.
