(JUN 17) Last night at the Maksoud Plaza
Hotel, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the main event, junior welterweight
Duda Yankovich, 139, of Brazil won a 10-round unanimous decision
over Paola Rojas, 137½. The two were fighting for the light
welterweight WIBA title. Final judges scores were 100-91, 99-91, and
100-92.
In other women’s bouts on the card, Bantamweight Simone Da Silva
Duarte, 118, won by TKO over Paola Esther Herrera, 116½, in the
(0:24 seconds) fifth round of a scheduled eight rounder. They were
fighting for the WIBA South American Bantamweight title.
Junior Welterweight Leticia Rojo, 139, TKO’d Patricia Cristina Da
Silva, 132¼, 0:34 seconds of the first round of a scheduled
four-rounder.
Lastly, junior welterweight Tatiana Giordano, 140¾, TKO’d Sueli
Caroline Abreu, 139, 1:43 seconds of the first round, fight
scheduled for four rounds.
