(MAY 25) Last night
at the Marriott Hotel, in Irvine, California, and promoted by Roy
Engelbrecht Promotions, Elizabeth Quevedo of Commerce, California,
and five-time amateur US Champion and, and ranked #1, at 138 lbs.,
as an amateur, won her pro debut over Danielle Christensen, now
1-5-0 (1KO), of Fresno, California, via a third-round TKO.
Quevedo now 1-0
(1KO), dominated Christensen throughout the bout, and nearly ended
the bout in the first round. Christensen suffered cuts over both
eyes which forced the stoppage and the end of third round.
According to Quevedo's coach, Robert Luna (who co-manages with Frank
Espinoza), Elizabeth suffered a minor hand injury that prevented her
from stopping Christensen, now 1-7, in the first round.
