The 3rd ProSieben FIGHTNIGHT will air at
10 pm CET on Friday 25th May. It has the potential to be the best so
far, from the women's boxing fans viewpoint, with two World
Championships fight. The main event has Kentikian (16-0-0) facing
her toughest European opponent so far in her second defence of her
WBA Flyweight Belt., i.e. Nadia Hockmi (9-4-1) of France. Hockmi
recently fought the former 3 times Amateur World Champion Simoni
Galassi for the European Title (EBU). The fight ended in a draw, but
most people watching the fight agreed, that Hockmi was robbed. There
were also some dispute about the decision, when Hockmi fought and
lost to Anita Christensen for the WBA/GBU Bantamweight Title in
October 2006. Hockmi's latest appearance in the ring was in
Karlsruhe on 31st March, where she scored a 2nd round TKO over Pia
Mazelanik. Hockmi is no doubt a better opponent than any of the
others Kentikian has faced in her WBA Title fights.
The women entering the ring for the second World Championship fight
are approx . 50 lbs heavier. Russian Natascha Ragosina will meet
Dakota Stone of Washington, USA. This is a rematch of a fight that
took place in Aschersleben on 14th January 2006. Their first fight
ended in an UD in favor of Ragosina. There are no less than 3 belts
at stake for Friday's Super Middleweight fight, ie WBO, WIBF and GBU.
Both Kentikian and Ragosina appeared on Stefan Raab's talk show last
night, and the clip can be watched here:
