(FEB 26) WBAN has received an open
letter from Chevelle Hallback, who would like to set the record
straight as to why she did not take the fight with Canada's Jelena
Mrdjenovich.
Hallback told WBAN: "I did not say I would not fight Jelena or do
not want to fight Jelena, just that I will not go to Canada and
fight her for only $5000, the purse that they were trying to get me
to accept. I have a lot of my fans thinking that I will not fight
her because I am afraid and that is so far from the truth! The WBC
said no one put in a purse bid for me and that is because they said
it would not go to purse bid. Either I accept Jelena's team offer or
no fight, end of story. Could you please let my fans and the public
know that I want to fight Jelena but I will not do it for only
$5000. Will she come to the USA and fight for $5000? NO! She will
not. So why should I go to Canada for so low money when there is so
much more to be made."
